First impressions in web design are vitally important. For an eye doctor, you’d think that a clean, fresh and navigation-friendly design would be a priority. I mean, we’re using our eyes to look at all your important web content, right? In reality, it took me six pages of Google searches to find a website that was designed well.

It seems the doctors and staff at Wooten Vision Care understand the importance of good design. The ophthalmology practice’s site includes a simple, understated color palette that remains consistent throughout (mixing deep and lighter blues with a beige, sand-toned tint) and it uses clean typography to help the practice exude a sophistication rarely seen in the doctor’s sites I visited. Also, the navigation is simple. It’s so easy to find the page you’re looking for and there’s a patient portal link as a big button right on the home page of the site.

In web design, less is almost always better, and the Wooten site manages to relay a lot of information in a style that doesn’t feel like you’re wading through unnecessary pages to get what you want. Clean typography and the subtle use of color make this medical practice’s website a standout. And for that, Wooten Vision Care gets the Big Kahuna’s first Daily Shaka. Well done.
